Within the Framing Area there is a selection of over 300 frame mouldings and over 100 mount colours on display. Kevin is confident that with these he can make every piece of artwork look its best.
Items that can be framed include paintings, prints, photographs, posters, certificates, canvases, fabric art such as cross-stitch, tapestries and silk paintings and virtually any 3D objects such as medals, ties, sports shirts, imitation flowers and coin and banknote sets. In the past Kevin has even framed hand-made puppets made by pupils at the local primary school, a small child's ballet dress and a pair of tarantula skins. Nothing has beaten him yet!

| Mounts and Glazing |
Kevin uses only Bainbridge Artcare mountboard. The colours used in range of mountboard do not fade nor do they bleed, and the card itself traps pollutant gases so extending the life of the artwork. Artcare is often specified and trusted by museums and collections.
To further protect your work a range of glazing can be used instead of the standard 2mm float glass. These special glasses can have reflection control and/or UV filtering - they are of course the more expensive option, but they will enhance the appearance and can extend the life of the framed artwork.

With over 300 mouldings, there should be enough choice to suit all tastes and to successfully frame all work.
Frame mouldings include the more traditional as well as the latest contempoary shapes, various shades of gold and silver to different plain and stained woods, and coloured frames including whites, reds, blues, greens and many others.

| Hand Finished |
Kevin completing a framing job in the workshop. All the frames are hand made and checked to ensure they leave the shop in perfect condition, ready to hang on the wall in the customer's home.
On sale in the shop are a number of hooks and nails for different wall surfaces, as well as picture wire, chord and other odds and ends useful when hanging pictures. And of course you can always pop in just for a bit of free and friendly advice about the best way to hang and arrange your artworks. Kevin has a sign saying in the window that if you ask nicely, he might even make you a cup of coffee whilst you browse around!

Customers calling in with their items to be framed can discuss the options and receive a no-obligation, free quote of the price that would be charged for the job. With very few exceptions the quoted price is the price charged when the job if completed. Any increases in charges will always be explained and discussed with the customer before the job is carried out in the framing workshop.
